About MyMoMe
My Mobile Memories is our way of giving you a comfortable place where you can store and play with your different bits of precious digital content - those you either create or receive in your daily life.
We believe that many of these digital bits just disappear because most online and digital services are about the here and now, rather than about saving things for later.
Our hope is to make it easy for you to store and treasure this digital content. The cute text messages from your loved one on the mobile, your funny pictures from the party or cool picture from the concert. It could also be the video you saw or made for YouTube or whatever else you have out there.
You can send in your pictures and movies directly from your phone. Links, videos and text messages can be easily stored by typing them in yourself. Everything is private by default since this is about treasuring and playing around with stuff, not just about showing what you are up to.
Having this stuff stored safely is nice. You know where it is and you won't lose it if you lose your phone or camera. Think of it as being like the box of old love letters, concert tickets and other things you have gathered (and hidden) in your closet or under the bed. But why not use it for something else too? Mix it, play with it, create new stuff from it.
That at least was what we thought could be fun, so we made some features to help you do just that.
We thought it would be really fun to create memories out of this content, so that was the first thing we did. You can create them out of all types of media, not just photos or videos or text on their own - imagine having all these types of content lying on the table and mixing them together for a specific story. You describe it, package it, attach emotions to it, label it and simply make it tell your story.
We think that worked out pretty well. It was fun and looked cool. It's useful to be able to store this stuff and look back in time at all your media mixed together like this. But memories don't have to just be private, a memory could also be about a great party and most memories happen with other people involved. Most of your friends have digital bits stored here and there just like you do, but we don't think it's much fun to have everything scattered around in different places. As a result we made it possible to have your friends join in on a memory you've made and add their own content to it. Suddenly you can create a common and complete memory of what happened together.
We're very happy with it, but while we were at it we thought a little creativity wouldn't hurt, so we also made a collage editor for you. Sometimes printing something out and giving it to others can be fun. We don't need to sit in front of the computer all day :) Do an invite out of your content, make a special letter or something else to show how you feel.
